It has to be quite obvious to everyone in America, that is, thinking Americans and there are not too many of them, that our two political parties are worthless. Their degree of worthlessness is not to be measured in their lack of ability to govern for we know that every republican lacks that and that democrats are half-assed in their approach to governing. Republicans only concern themselves with promoting greed(no regulations, free market bullshit), fear(war mongering), and the hatred(racism, anti-women, etc). While many Democrats claim to work for the people while accepting corporate money through the backdoor. Some perfect examples are DNC chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and the TPP, NAFTA, etc.

This phenomena seems to have been the prevailing mode since 1985 when Al From created the "New Democrats" (Third Way) which was just euphemism for selling the Democratic Party to corporate donors. It has been exacerbated of course by Citizens United  and now we essentially have one political party with two wings: democrats who support/pass republican policies as centrists and republicans who exploit the stupid voters, racism, fear, and greed as the right wing.

After observing this dysfunction for the past thirty years, I have arrived at a solution. The solution is to merge the current democratic, actually the centrists/moderates, and republican parties into one party called the TRICKLE-DOWN Party. Their platform will be to maintain the status quo of neoliberalism so that the people continue to suffer from austerity, corporate ripoffs, lack of universal healthcare, inability to pay to educate their kids, failing infrastructure, recession/economic stagnation, and environmental pollution. The party will have a thirty year history of failure to rely upon but that doesn't matter to the idiot, low-information voters, and working poor who have always favored the republicans' racism over their own economic livelihood. The party will have a ready made leader in Hillary Clinton, a former Goldwater Republican who totally embraces Wall Street and corporate America.

While the new second party, led by Bernie Sanders and the progressives would be called Progressive Party. The party's platform would be to directly opposed everything that the other party proposes which hinders or does not benefit the majority of the American people. No Blue Dog Demos will be allowed and the party will rely on public financing. The party will be inclusive of all groups excluding the evangelical Christians of course and their religious myths. Intelligence and common sense will be valued and science will be respected. 

So inclusion, I think this approach will be a much better option for Americans because they will know who is/has been selling down the drain while hiding behind corporate donations, Reaganism, and phony patriotism. This situation will give the apathetic, lazy, stupid voters a clear choice and maybe even inspire them to participate as citizens once and for all, but don't hold your breath.

I was reading an article at Alternet.com about "natural" food labeling. It turns out that the word "natural" doesn't necessarily mean natural like no pesticides, hormones, artificial flavorings, no GMOs, etc. According to Urvashi Rangan, the executive director of the Consumer Reports Food Safety and Sustainability Center, who is leading the organization’s fight for clearer food labeling, about the new study and campaign, "natural" labeled food can still contain pesticides and other dangerous substances which are not required to be on the label of ingredients of the food you buy.

In fact Mr. Rangan says that “Natural” is one of the most misleading labels that's out on the marketplace. Year after year when we have asked consumers about what they think it means, they think it means more than it does." He further says that his organization would like to see the "natural" on foods banned altogether. 

But, what I find most disturbing is that this is yet another case where a greedy corporation, any corporation, can coop an idea/concept and pervert it for profit. People have always understood the word "natural" to mean something is as it was created, right? Greedy capitalist bastards want us to believe that food was created with pesticides, hormones, and any other garbage already present. They want us to be loyal consumers of their products while they knowingly poison us. Imagine the congratulatory speeches they give at shareholder meetings about how the corporation is growing its profits yearly with its new line of "natural" products. But of course they don't tell the shareholders how many people are being poisoned by the garbage they sell because people are not important just consumers.
