The media politicians have called for the firing of VA Chief General Shinseki. Not that the general has been implicated in the fraudulent practices of the Phoenix VA or any of the other sites. According to these sycophants, Shinseki is guilty of misconduct and or bad management because the scandal occurred under his watch. No current evidence links Shinseki but that is not important to the courageous, veteran loving Republicans who filibustered a bill that would have addressed VA staffing issues earlier this year while at the same time crowing about their undying support for veterans..
The undiscovered fact that this entire scandal may be shown as the work of incompetent local managers seeking to obtain bonuses by inflating data is lost on the media and the media politicians. The fact that these same managers committed fraud and possibly lead to veterans dying is overlooked. The main stream media which ranks slightly higher than Republicans in value to the country will not ask real questions but instead lean on Republican talking points which conveniently overlook Republican complicity in the scandal. But finally, why doesn't General Shinseki deserve a fair hearing based on the facts. Everyone according to our great constitution is assumed innocent until proving guilty. The fact that some clowns in Phoenix and elsewhere lied to VA headquarters about veteran care statistics is something to be investigated. Did Shinseki know the data was false? Did he help falsify data? Did he receive payoffs for participating is some scheme to rig the data. I frankly believe that all these answers are no but then I have no more evidence to support my opinion than the politicians have to support their statements that he should be fired.
