As I sit and watch the third day of impeachment hearings, I can't help but wonder what the people think who voted for republicans:
Apparently republican voters are. Is it just stupidity. BONHOEFFER ON STUPIDITY(Talkers) says that: ‘If we want to know how to get the better of stupidity, we must seek to understand its nature. This much is certain, that it is in essence not an intellectual defect but a human one... "Upon closer observation, it becomes apparent that every strong upsurge of power in the public sphere, be it of a political or of a religious nature, infects a large part of humankind with stupidity. It would even seem that this is virtually a sociological-psychological law. I would add a couple more elements to this. First, there seems to be a desire, a selfishness, manifested in maintaining a status quo defined by serving only ones self at the expense of everyone else even when the status quo is destructive. Second, for those who vote republican, they find it impossible to admit they were fooled by a charlatan(s) therefore they must rationalize what they see to soothe their ethical morass. Whatever the answer is, we as a country should certainly strive to elect better representatives to serve the people instead of the sycophants, bootlickers, and clowns we are watching during these hearings.
