Chris Carter, Football Hall of Fame receiver, made an interesting statement while on the "Mike and Mike" radio show this morning. He told his co-host Mike that the fury over Danny Ferry's reading of a scouting report concerning Luol Deng now of the Miami Heat represents two different world views in America. Luol Deng from Sudan and a Duke graduate as is Danny Ferry was described in very ignorant and racist terms by an unknown scout of the Atlanta Hawks.
He went on to explain that he and his sons encounter these attitudes daily in their lives while Mike was totally dumbfounded by the entire affair. Mike stated that he does not understand how Ferry would even read such a report to others before challenging the person who originally wrote it. Mike was basically saying that he did not understand the mentality of Ferry or anyone that would share such garbage with others. What level of moral deficit allows such a disclosure.
That is the key question that needs to be answered by all those who sit back and allow the disrespect of minorities, the President of the U.S., immigrants and different religions. What is America's moral compass? Or is America just a country founded on lies and hypocrisy.
Comments to think about.
